| Thallus foliose-lobate, closely attached in neat, ±regular rosettes, 0.5–4 cm wide, without marginal prothallus. Lobes cuneate-flabellate, 0.5–2 mm wide, contiguous or imbricate; margins rounded to ±incised, slightly thickened, appearing ±placodioid. Upper surface matt, often fissured from centre to margins, smooth or plicate-ridged, without isidia, pruina or soredia, pale grey-fawn to ±olivaceous. Lower surface cobwebby, closely intermingled with substratum, without rhizohyphae, whitish. Apothecia sessile, closely appressed; disc flat or subconvex, 0.3–0.7 mm wide, matt, dark red-brown; proper exciple persistent, rarely excluded, somewhat flexuous, concolorous or slightly darker than disc; hymenium I+ blue. Ascospores ellipsoidal, 12–14 × 4–5 µm, thin-walled, smooth. | ||
| Known in Australia only from a single alpine locality in Tas., overgrowing sandy soil and mosses on dolerite. Also in Macquarie Is. and South Is., New Zealand. | ||
